HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! It's amazing to think that I've put up with this hobby for more than a year...this has to be the second longest interest I've had in a long, long time (the first being collecting comic books, of course)...Even I didn't think I'd be doing this gig for this long...Heck, I didn't think there'd be any more space in Fotopages for me to upload by the end of July last year...Guess small miracles do happen...

For the guys at Fotopages, I thank thee for allowing us aspiring photographers (albeit a bit amateurish) to upload as many pics as we want...And for those who are still interested in looking at my just above average pics, thank you all for your support...

Now, let's get on with the show...

A few weeks ago, the members of LTP 38 (the best LTP of 2004...yeeeaaaaayyy... ) had their very first meeting at KLCC to discuss their first action to do something for the community (community service lah...trying not to sound like ex-convicts forced to do good deeds for society...sheesh)...some suggestions were thrown here and there, like going to old homes or orphanages, donate old clothes, or even hooking up with other LTPs or organizations (the Red Cross maybe) and see if they need any extra manpower. Sounds like fun doesn't it? hehehe...

Anyway, we all thought it would be a great idea if we discussed all this under the warm rays of the sun at the park behind KLCC...you know, like a picnic...hmmmm...what rays? what sun? what park? what picnic?...it was all rain and doom and gloom...Sashi!!! Where are you?!?!?! Sashi!!!...In the end, we all ended up in the food court...go figure...

Not much happened after that...like all Malaysian cultures, we talked seriously at the beginning and the end...the in-betweens were filled with eating and laughing (give us a break dude...we're only 22-24 year olds...well, most of us anyway...you can't expect us to solve world peace by the end of the day)...for our sakes, I hope John would be pleased that we did give this community thingy our best...

Cheers mate!!!

P.S...2005 has just begun...let's give it a chance before saying life sucks...if I can still try to stand, so can you...

Good pics, dude.

Hi again everybody!!! Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to all!!! Wow! It's been a really, really long time since I updated this thing...Those of you who know why I've been quiet for so long, all I have to say is I'm doing ok these days . To those who don't know, just be glad I'm alive and kicking...hehehe...

Gee...I'm really wondering how many of my fans are still looking at this page? I'd guess by now, none....Oh well, as long as I get to write and show off my pics, that's good enuff for me...

What have I been up to, I hear you all ask...I got a job as an intern under MDC at Symmid, Cyberjaya...The internship is kinda cool, as it really gets you ready to face the hardships and limelights of the real working world...and I've gotta say that working as an intern right now is WAY better than doing my final years of MEng...I shit you not my friends...

The pics you see below show an MDC programme that all interns had to attend....The Leadership, Teambuilding and Problem Solving programme no. 38...or LTP 38 for short...keepers of the flame, what up y'all? The programme was held at Cameron Highlands and was a real challenge to us all...a life changing experience for me if you will...Not that easy or hard, not that stressful or easy going, not that physical or relaxing...but in the end I can say that all of us walked away as LTP 38 braver than ever to face the hardships of life and determined to make a difference in the world...

Let me summarise the "hell" we all had to go through...bums down, ears open...

We all departed from Central Market KL around 8 am...during the early hours of the ride, everybody was all smiles and laughs...some were still a bit sleepy and groggy, but that was ok...when we reached the foot of Cameron, then trouble started heading our way...people started vomitting when the bus kept swaying here and there due to the winding roads...it's no picnic sitting next to a person who barfs everytime the bus cornered to the left or right...I kid you not...

Once we reached our destination, the Merlin Hotel, then things really went into gear...we had to imagine that we were all part of a tribe cursed by an evil sorcerer who took away our fertility...I am serious...and we had to go through all sorts of tasks before we could get our antidotes...

Day 1...go around town and go up the highest hill in Cameron to find the keys to the castle...our room keys lah...or not we'll be sleeping outside in tents...

Day 2...go through acid rivers, spider webs, and airplane puzzles to get the equipment that we need to light our torches when walking into the dark forest to find our antidotes...

Day 2 (night time)...prepared for battle...got our fire holders ready...torches ready...robes ready...and our great war cry and war dance....Kamate Ha 3x...Kamate Siti Tera....Haaaaaaaaaa!!!!!

The forest was pitch black that night...rain was constant...we were desperately trying to keep our flames alive...we were being attacked from all sides by water balloons...IT WAS HELL...a good kind of hell, mind you...We all had to make sure that we made it to our safety hut on time...flames were lit, and the war dance began...I, Zack, made the biggest sacrifice ever to LTP 38, and not even a single soul knew of it until it was too late...heck, I didn't know I made the biggest sacrifice until the family jewels were damaged...daun....daun...Sashi!!! yes siree...the year ended with a BANG!!!!

Once the attacks stopped, one by one we walked through the black path, flame torches in hand, to get our antidotes...for some of us, it was a walk in the park...for others, it was a walk of a lifetime...

Finally, LTP 38 came out tops...WELL DONE YOU GUYS!!!! WE ALL MADE IT...NO ONE WAS LEFT BEHIND...

We all held high our antidotes (it was just honey...but still...) and drank to the new year, life, forgiveness, gratefullness, courage, and hope..."maybe tonite, magic could happen...you never know"

LTP 38...I declare you keepers of the flame...do not let these flames burn out...we shall all keep each other alive...

Final words from John..."The way we work is similar to the way a duck swims...on top it seems very graceful and easy to do...underneath, you don't see how much hard work it takes to make things seem to flow easily" I couldn't have said it better myself...

The Final Road Trip...Lake District...

The big welcome sign from inside the slaughter house...
Lake District...home of mermaids, elves, and hobbits...
The gang can't wait to take a swim in the lake
View all 23 photos...
This road trip meant a lot to me...not only was it my one chance to finally spend some time out of Cardiff and see the rest of the world, be one with nature, throw up in the car, have headaches due to traffic jams, trying not to pee for the next 7 hours due to traffic jams...but the trip really meant a lot to me just coz the fact that it was my last week in the UK, and it was my last precious moments with friends that I may or may not ever see again...

One thing that I've learnt, and still saddens me to this day, is the fact that if in your lifetime you move around a lot (meaning from one place to another) you tend to meet all sorts of people who make an impact on your life...they're the ones who bring out the real you at that moment...they're the ones who can make you laugh, make you cry, make you feel like you're on top of the world, or make you feel like the loneliest person on the planet...and when you move on to another place, these people who you've become so attached to tend to disappear...I've learnt that many of the people that I've met throughout the years (primary school in the UK, secondary school in Shah Alam, UiTM Arau, UiTM Shah Alam, and finally Masters Degree at Cardiff) have helped to make the transition to adulthood easy as well as very painful...

And so, while I desperately tried to give my best performance showing the other guys that I was having a whale of a time and that I really appreciated them inviting me to tag along for my FINAL (heck, it was my one and only) road trip, it was still sad seeing the faces of friends that I may never see again...who else but Ajeen that taught me to play the guitar, who else but Pekau would crack up of those kampung jokes, who else but Dr. Mi would accidentally say vulgar words when he meant something else, who else but Bergh can shave and look like ikan puyu (hahahaha...kidding dude)...that reminds me, I really need to give a shout out of thanks to Bergh for uploading the pics into my archives...almost all the pics that you see here are from his camera...so if you see that the quality is no good as compared to before, then you'll understand which camera not to buy...hahahaha...kidding dude...I'm just kidding....

As I write these words from the kitchen of my home in Shah Alam, Malaysia, I can't help but to think that even though the year has had its ups and downs, and though I so wanted to leave Cardiff with a big bang instead of the crappy mode that I am currently in, a small smile breaks through coz I did manage to leave the place that changed me into an adult with my head just above the water...

To all Cardiff people reading this, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping shape me become the person that I am today...there's too much of you to list down here and I don't really know many of your real names...hehehe...and I can understand that some of you may be pissed off that I just upped and went just like that, but I guess that each person has his way of saying goodbye during desperate times...life is funny like that in that it makes no sense most of the time...

Not to say that I won't be uploading anymore pics in this archive, but just as a final bow down to life in the UK, I'd like to part with these words from the movie Spiderman 2...

"Sometimes, to do what's right, we must be steady and give up the things that we want most, even if it means our dreams..."

memories in spain remind me of u...thanks mate for the waffle... Wed 24-Nov-2004 11:46

MEng Graduation 2004

We've both finally made it to this day...
From left...Fendi, Pon and me...
All smiles with Rizmi...
View all 35 photos...
The 12th of July 2004...when I think back on this day in my life, a few things come to my mind...

1) I still haven't lost enough weight to gain a six pack by the age of 25...
2) I still can't believe I wore a yellow shirt to graduation...
3) I still can't believe I look that good in a biege suit...
4) I still can't believe that I'm the tallest Malaysian in the UK and it still takes forever to find size 12 or 13 shoes in the land of giants...
5) I still can't believe that a hack like me made it this far in life...coming to the UK three years ago and then finally graduating with an MEng degree on this day...

In all honest truth, the graduation ceremony in Cardiff can't compare to the graduation ceremony of UiTM...except the fact that I finally got to wear a proper robe after all this time...

When I think back from the time I was in Form 1, it's really hard to believe that the same nerdy, shy and goofy kid from long ago is the same guy that's looking back at me from the other side of the mirror... never really thought that I'd made it this far...honestly, I'd thought that I'd finish my studies with Diploma at UiTM and stay in Malaysia for the rest of my life...seems like that someone up there still likes me...thanks!

If I was given the chance again, I'm not too sure that I'd do all this all over again...you know, with this being a very, very, very hard and frustrating year and all...and add to that the fact that most of my remaining friends had to put up with my tantrums and all (all of you know who you are...thanks for your non-stop motivation)...but then again, I guess that's why life is so fun and unpredictable to look at from afar...not all of us want a boring and monotonous life, do we?

Like a very wise person told me once,"life is like a cartwheel...there are moments when you are at the top and everything seems great, everything seems to make sense, everything seems to come easily in life... but then come the moments when you are at the bottom of the wheel, where everything seems wrong, nothing seems to work, and all you want to do is lay down dead on your bed and sulk for the rest of your life...but in the end, it's all up to you to keep the wheel spinning....no one will help you until you help yourself...because no one is bound to be at the bottom of the wheel forever..."

Some of you reading this might be saying to yourself,"what the f*$k am I talking about?"...sorry, but just wanted to be philosophical for a moment there...so screw all of you who think of me otherwise....

A very, very, very, very big thank you to those that made it to my graduation...and another round of thanks to all those that truly believed that this gentle giant could finish his studies in the end...

All in all, I want to give a large round of applause to all those that stayed by my side all these years...you all know who you are, so there's no need for me to list down all your names like a guy who's just won an Academy Award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture....hehehe...stand up all of you and give yourselves a very good pat on the back...guess that I want to dedicate this degree to you all....muah!....the end

congratulation....mane bile nak belanjer mkn ni? Fri 30-Jul-2004 07:04

Pon's Graduation BBQ...Alhamdulillah...

Finally, my oldest friend in Cardiff, Pon, can give a sigh of relief knowing that he has finally graduated from his degree. And what other way to celebrate your results than by having a BBQ at the back of your house...

As always, when it comes to Pon and eating, all of Cardiff was invited to join in...seriously though, I dunno where he got the money from to pay for all those chicken and lamb, but as always, there was enough for all...

As you can see from the pics, the day was bright and sunny, except for the night before when Pon and family did all the preparations during which it was raining non-stop...still, all that preparation did pay off as everyone seemed to enjoy themselves...well, okkkk, everyone came just for the free food...nuf said...

Three Events in a Day...June 24th 2004...

Skies appear to be ok looking for the moment...
Looking at cameras in the arcade...
yeah dude...things have changed since you've been gone...
View all 32 photos...
As the title suggests, on this particular day, three major things happened; the actual start of the summer sale, me mate Fairul going back to Malaysia (sulk sulk...why am I always the guy seeing people off during the summer?), and me best mate Moqq's birthday...

Ever since Moqq came back to Cardiff to pay us a visit last week, the weather here has just been so God damned dreadful...all of a sudden Cardiff is shivering cold, endless rain, and really dark and moody days during the summer...where's the sun? where's the heatwave for Pete's sake? where's my shades? where's the sight of girls in skimpy suits? where's the sight of hariy men wearing shorts? urgh....never mind...that was typo...hehehe....

In all truth, I did exaggerate a wee tiny bit...it didn't just rain in Cardiff when Moqq came...it rained in Cardiff throughout the whole year Moqq was here doing his degree... ...for those of you not in the know, you might be curious to know who this Moqq fella is...don't panic in trying to look at my past pics to find his face...coz I'm also curious who the f%$k he is...hehehe...lame joke, I know...

Ahem...so, Moqq is one of my best buds around...a really, really old friend...he's tall...errr...that's all I can think of for now...for more details, you'll just hav to look at my friendster list to see the testi that I wrote for this jerk of a friend...all I know is that this guy went home last year, became a workaholic, we lost contact for a year, and then he suddenly reappears in my life again, saying that he's stopping in Cardiff before going to Portugal to see the game between England and Croatia (note to myself: England lost to Portugal in a penalty shootout during the Euro 2004...and I gotta stop talking bout Moqq in a gay manner) ...it just so happened that returning from Portugal, it was his birthday (can you guess his age kids?) and he decided to bring all his friends out to celebrate...well, actually, only me n Din were free to accompany him, but it's the thought that counts people...

When the three of us were walking around town, having lunch and contemplating the fact that Moqq is getting really old and fat and losing hair (I'm not far behind, mind you), it suddenly struck me that Fairul was going back home...awwww man...it's really hard to cater yout time and patience to two different people who are at other ends of town....had to run back to the bus station to catch him in time...Fairul Fairul....susah benor aku jadi member hang...dahlah hang duk menyibuk kat umah aku....aku plak kena hantar ko balik plak...Puyol Puyol...hehehe....

Funnily enough, on that day, it was sunshine and girls in skimpy dresses...so, you could say that my eyes were ogling to their hearts content... ...but as you can see from the pics...dark clouds were always looming above Moqq's head....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DUDE....AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL OTHERS WHO ARE CELEBRATING ON THAT DAY TOO....MAY ALL YOUR DREAMS, WISHES AND ASPIRATIONS COME TRUE LIKE A TRIP TO DISNEYWORLD...AND TO ALL, A GOODNIGHT....WASSALAM...

well, ironically fairul and me are from the same school..
mc gay gay.. that the whole truth!! you fugly dragoN!!!

Bristol Shopping Tour 2004

Train is delayed on a hot Sunday Morning...
Both girls occupy their time on the train...adik snoring really
Yes adik...we've reached Bristol Parkway...
View all 11 photos...
Hi y'all...! How're you doin? It's amazing to think that for the past several weeks, my weekends have been anything but boring...there's always an activity for me to do, where it's always the case that I find out about it and the fact that I'm invited at the very last minute...you get my drift? Or is my English really that bad? I think I should've taken my medication a few hours ago...

Moving on...it was then not a surprise that your favourite mascot was invited (at the very last minute, of course) to be the official escort to Cik Puan Siti Mariam to her business engagement in Bristol on Sunday, the 13th of June 2004...other members of her diplomatic party included her personal assistant Encik Yusri Yusop and her personal servant/slave Cik Siti Azahara?...er Aharaza?...erm...Arafaza?...erm...ala, minah yang suka kasanova sorang-sorang tu in my last fotopages tu...hehehe...

The truth? Yeeeesssssss, why not...sigh...me and Pekau had to "babysit" adik while Mariam had to do some business thingy for her business thingy future...doesn't sound that lavish, does it? What's in it for me? Wellllll, if things go according to plan, one of Mariam's products just might help me win the war against FAT...lose 20 kg in 3 months!!!!!

Well yeah, I know it's impossible, but she said so herself, that I'm BEEFY in a mash potatoe with peas and gravy kind of way...hungry anyone?

Alrighty then...the gentleman in the front row of the audience has already started throwing rotten tomatoes at me and making rude remarks regarding me wearing a g-string...and so, without further ado....on with the show....

The Griswald's Family Picnic

Having fun in the sun...
Quite a rocky beach don't you think...
The guys searching for a way to get down...
View all 15 photos...
Don't you just love summer? The sun rises up at half 3 in the morning and sets really late at night...the warm atmosphere and positive karma that it creates...the long 3 month break (or as in my case, a break period if I don't get off my ass and find a job)...everybody just wants to be outside to get a tan...the flowers are out and all the trees are so green...sigh...a guy could get used to this easy life...

As tradition goes, there's always bound to be a group of people who plan to have a picnic around this time of the year...and I'm not talking just any old picnic...not the one where you bring a basket of goodies, and find a perfect spot to sun bathe...I'm talking about the type of picnic where you actually barbeque your own food by the seaside, and then afterwards go fool around with the frisbee for a couple of hours, and then sleep like a log when you get home...

Ah yes...now I have found the reason why I'm getting larger and bigger by the minute...sate ayam with kuah kacang, beef burger, beef sausages, T-bone steaks, and the ever favourite marinated chicken...top that up with a tall, cool glass of Coke and sponge cake and fruits for dessert...ah yes...I'll be having a heart attack soon if I go on living like this...but who wants to live forever, right?

Don't be surprised if you don't recognise most of the faces this time...never had the chance to take their pics before this...guess this was one of those rare moments that I did before I leave for home in October...as the Cardiff saying goes, "where there's a will, there's a way, where there's a Zak, there's always a snack"...hahaha... I crack myself up...see you guys in the near future

The Griswalds Go To A Summer Picnic...

The gang gathering round for brunch...
look at that...feast fit for a king...
the girls really enjoying the day out...
View all 16 photos...
Today was such a warm n lovely day...and I figured that it was high time that I got up real early in the morning n then get myself ready to head on to the school to get my Power Coursewrok done as well as my 8 minute presentation for my Car Pooling business plan...

Of course, those who know me so well would have figured that I would wake up really late in the end (hey! waking up at 11 on a Saturday! gimme a break dude!), and so the day was already half gone...since little old me was kinda feeling lonely, I decided to give me pal Din to see if he was free for brunch (that's breakfast+lunch for you readers out there)...and i promised myself that no matter how good the weather, I'D DEFINITELY DRAG MY SORRY ASS TO SCHOOL!!!!!

Ohhh...how cruel the hands of fate can be sometimes...especially on the 24the of April 2004...not only did Din bring out the whole Saturday gang, but we also spent the whole day eating...so, let's see what we did today...
1) never went to school in the end...
2)never got any work done at home or school...
3)pretty sure i gained an extra 10KG from all that pizza and fried chicken...
4)I pamper mohammad too much lah...cannot scold him evertime he' naughty...dear dear uncle zack...

So...as a lesson to you readers out there...think not once..not twice...but thrice if you wanna get me to work on a bright Saturday morning...

Enjoy the pics! wassalam...

Looks like alot of fun!!! Sun 25-Apr-2004 09:47
